BACOLOD CITY, (PNA) — A runner from Silay City, Negros Occidental will join the 2014 Boston Marathon on April 21.
Dino Polo Pison was invited by the Boston Athletic Association, a non-profit and organized sports association and host of Boston Marathon, as among the screened and selected participants.
Pison is one of the 11 Filipinos in its “rolling admission” type of registration for the race next year.
During the L.A. Marathon last March, Pison finished the event with a time of 03:05:02 in men’s qualifying standards and accepted time of 03:10:00.
Pison has been into running for eight years, and along with his father, Damian, has joined the ING New York Marathon three times from 2007 to 2009.
Last year, the 117th edition of the Boston Marathon on April 15, was marred by a bomb explosion, killing three people and wounding 254 others.
The Boston Marathon is an annual event hosted by several cities in Boston in eastern Massachusetts and is considered as the world’s oldest annual marathon.
