WASHINGTON, (PNA/APP) –Finance Minister Ishaq Dar called on Japan’s Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso and discussed Tokyo’s support for major Pakistani projects.
During the meeting that took place on the margins of IMF-World Bank annual moot, Dar briefed Taro Aso about the macroeconomic policies of the new government.
He informed Taro Aso, who is also Japanese finance minister, about the Yamaha Plant being set up in Pakistan.
He hoped that the Japanese leadership would give a go ahead signal to the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for major projects like Karachi Circular Railway for which the spadework had already been completed.
The Japanese leader appreciated the bold decisions of the new government that had helped restore confidence of investors and multilateral agencies. He unequivocally stated that the Japanese government would support major projects in Pakistan.
He said maintenance of economic momentum would attract more Japanese capital into Pakistan.
