DUSHANBE, (PNA/IRNA) –The Tajik prime minister said on Saturday that the noble Iranian nation chose a president in June 14 presidential elections who possesses high political and religious insight.
In a meeting with outgoing Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan Ali-Asghar Sherdoust at the end of his diplomatic mission in Dushanbe, Oqil Oqilov who represented his country in the 68th session of the UN General Assembly in New York said that the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani delivered a brilliant and influential speech at the session.
Oqilov praised Iran known as a powerful country in the international arena despite western sanctions imposed on it.
The Tajik prime minister hoped for further expansion of bilateral ties during Rouhani’s term in office.
He termed relations between the two neighboring countries as exemplary and thanked the Iranian ambassador for his efforts his tenure in Tajikistan.
Today the Tajik government and nation regard Iran as a reliable friendly country, he said.
Referring to Tehran-Dushanbe growing relations in social, economic, cultural and economic fields, mainly in recent years, including involvement of over 200 Iranian companies in construction projects in Tajikistan, the Tajik prime minister said such cooperation should be continued.Sherdoust served as Iran’s ambassador to Tajikistan for over five years.
