MANILA, (PNA) –Typhoon “Santi” is already outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and is moving farther away from the country and closer towards Vietnam, the state weather bureau said on Sunday.
In its update, PAGASA said that as of 10:00 a.m. Sunday, the eye of “Santi” was located at 550 km West of Iba, Zambales still packed with maximum winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph. It is forecast to move West at 19 kph.
“With this development and unless re-entry occurs, this is the final weather bulletin for this weather disturbance,” it said.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said that as of 10:00 a.m. Typhoon “Wipha” (International Name) was estimated at 1,400 km East of Northern Luzon and it is expected to enter the PAR by Monday morning.
Weather Forecaster Fernando Cada said on Sunday that once inside the Philippine territory it would be named “Tino” the third cyclone to visit the country this month and 20th this year.
