13 persons killed, 5 injured and thousands of CL families affected by typhoon Santi — RDRRMC-3

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, (PNA) –At least 13 persons died, five others injured and 6,757 individuals were affected as typhoon Santi battered Central Luzon Friday night.

Based on the latest data from the Regional Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) here, seven fatalities were identified as Francisco Serrano, a resident of Sta. Teresa 2nd, Lubao; Ricardo Del Rosario, 81, of Purok 2, Barangay Mauaque , Mabalacat; PO1 Cresencio Bueno, of Barangay Ayala, Magalang; Michael Parungao, of Barangay Lourdes, Candaba, all from Pampanga;

Irish Balingit, 16, of Barangay Marawa, Jaen; Florida Rigier, 76, of Barangay Pesa, Bongabon; Janell Yuduc, 7, of Barangay Pesa, Bongabon; all from Nueva Ecija; Raymond Samson, 7 and Rachele Samson, 8, both from Sitio Soliman, Barangay Morsia, Concepcion, Tarlac; Carlos D. Pacheco, 56, of Barangay Sta. Barbara, Iba, Zambales; Roberto Melo Santos, 78, of Barangay Baritan, San Miguel; a certain Kring-Kring; of Bulaong San Miguel and Teresita Manabat, 30, of Barangay Tigpalas, San Miguel; all from Bulacan.

Those injured, on other hand, were identified as Jay E. Abille, 39; April Andrea B. Pacheco, 10; Alessandra B. Pacheco, 3 , Roan B. Pacheco, 1; and Ronalyn D. Pacheco, 29, all from Barangay San Agustin, Iba, Zambales.

The RDRRMC also said that a total of 1,564 families or 6,757 persons in 16 municipalities or 53 barangays of Aurora, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Zambales were affected.

Of the total affected population, some 1,085 families or 4,718 persons in Zambales are temporarily housed in the various evacuation centers.

Likewise, at least 35 houses were partially and two others totally damaged in Palauig, Zambales.

The RDRRMC also reported that the partial cost of damages in agriculture in Aurora and Nueva Ecija were estimated at P2.93 billion.

Out of the total agricultural damage, Nueva Ecija was the hardest hit with P2.88 billion involving some P2.73 billion worth of palay crops and P157 million in high value agri products.

In Aurora province, damage to palay was initially estimated at P43.99 million including some P2.53 million in the fisheries sector.

Meanwhile, some parts of Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, Tarlac and Zambales are still without electric power due to damaged posts caused by the strong winds brought by typhoon Santi.
