Monday classes suspended in 13 NCR areas to give way to INC medical missions

MANILA, (PNA) — Thirteen areas in the National Capital Region (NCR) which include 12 cities and the municipality of Pateros will have no classes on Monday (Oct 14), the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced Sunday.

The MMDA said that this is to prevent traffic build-up from the wide-scale medical and dental mission to be conducted by the Iglesia ni Cristo in Manila on Monday.

Some two million people are expected to participate in the mission which will be held simultaneously in Plaza del Carmen, Plaza Avelino, Magallanes Drive Ext., Quinta Market and the parking space at the back of Far Eastern University, according to media reports.

A tweet from the MMDA quoted the announcement of suspension of classes and the areas affected coming from Department of Education Secretary, Bro. Armin Luistro.

Cities with cancelled classes (elementary and high school) for Monday (Oct 14) include:

1. Manila (including college level)

2. Quezon City

3. Caloocan

4. Pasig

5. Pasay

6. Makati

7. Mandaluyong

8. Taguig

9. Parañaque

10. Pateros

11. San Juan

12. Muntinlupa

13. Valenzuela

The MMDA also announced that four cities will have normal classes despite the medical mission.

The following cities will have normal schedules:

1. Marikina

2. Las Piñas

3. Malabon

4. Navotas
