ARITAO, NUEVA VIZCAYA, (PNA) — The Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC), led by chair and Governor Ruth Padilla, is implementing measures in preparation for typhoon “Santi” as the province is one of the areas placed under public storm warning signal No. 2 Friday.
According to Gov. Padilla, the provincial health office has already alerted the district hospitals for their ambulances, doctors and nurses to be ready to respond to emergency cases.
The governor said classes from pre-school, elementary and high schools both in public and private in the entire province were suspended Friday.
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) assured enough supply of relief goods ready for distribution in case there is a need to do so. Rescue teams are also on standby.
The governor advised residents in low-lying and landslide-prone areas to be always on alert and be prepared for preemptive evacuations.
Padilla said coordination was already made with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Army (PA) and private organization for the implementation of precautionary measures.
