Road repairs to continue this weekend in QC, Caloocan–MMDA

Posted on October 11, 2013

By Christropher Lloyd T. Caliwan

MANILA, (PNA)–Expect heavy traffic this weekend in some portions of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) in the cities of Quezon and Caloocan.

This, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), is due to the road repairs and re-blocking being conducted by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The road works will resume starting 10 p.m. on Friday (Oct.11) until 5 a.m. on Monday (Oct.14), the MMDA said.

In its advisory, the MMDA said the road reblocking will be conducted in the following areas: along Edsa from kaingin Road to Dario Bridge 1 (SB,2nd lane), Quezon City; along Araneta Ave. from ROTC Hunters to Agno Extension (2nd lane), Quezon City; along Edsa Monumento Circle (South Bound, lane 1 and lane 6); and along Edsa between Don Ang St. and after Evangelista St. lane 5 between Mascarado St. and T. Sora St. lane 5, both in Caloocan City.

To ensure that DPWH contractors heed to the schedule, the MMDA is set to deploy personnel on the said areas.

The MMDA said that its personnel will also be checking if the contractors have the necessary permit from the agency.

MMDA also advised motorists to use alternate routes as heavy traffic is expected at these areas.

DPWH said the repairs are in addition to the ongoing repairs andre-blocking works along various thoroughfares that the department is currently undertaking.
