MANILA, (PNA) — As part of the 74th Founding anniversary celebration of Quezon City, a QC Micro and Small Entrepreneurs Trade Show 2013 opened Monday and will run until October 18 at the QC Hall plaza covered court.
The trade show highlights some products of micro and small entrepreneurs of QC who are usually home-based producers, according to QC’s Sikap Buhay Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Office (SBECO).
It is being done annually to showcase the products made by QC entrepreneurs and some Filipino inventors creations which are also beneficial to the public.
Several products in booths lined-up along the pathway can be chosen and bought by anyone visiting or having transaction within the Quezon City hall or other nearby area.
Most of the products being sold are different kinds of beauty and wellness products, apparels, shoes and slippers, wallets and bags, accessories, kitchen stuff , Christmas decors and even ready-to-cook foods.
Benny D. Tacutaco, one of the entrepreneurs there who ventures in organic mushroom business displays and sells their products to consumers who want to try its lucrative worth.
Together with his staffs, they deploy a mushroom burger stand which offers delicious and healthy “mushroom burger with Malungay extracts”.
Tacutaco said that he is in the business of growing mushroom because of its high nutritional value.
“We sell it a P45.00. Many of those who taste our mushroom burgers swear it is very delicious and taste also like beef. It is organic, nutritious and a better substitute for proteins than meat,” Tacutaco explained.
Since mushroom are known for its medicinal value, he encouraged the consumers to include them in their daily diet.
He said interested consumers can also cultivate it even their home and earn a profitable income if they want to engage in mushroom business because there is a big demand for mushrooms which are also used as coffee or (Ganoderma).
Other eye-catching booth displays are very small cooking stove that uses denatured alcohol from extracts of sugar cane instead of gas.
According to the demonstrator on the booth, it is a very cheap alternative when a typical household ran-out of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) while cooking.
Aside from the fact that it emits blue flame which does not cause to blacken the pots the mini-stove can also be brought in during outdoor camping because it is very handy.
The stove is being sold in a promotional price of only P150.00.
