LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, (PNA)–An agent of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) cheated death when he was shot inside his Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) while he was parking it in his garage in Zone 2, Barangay Nancamaliran East in Urdaneta City on Friday night.
Ramyr Acacio, 39, sustained only minor injury on his left leg when hit by a bullet fragment and was treated by responding Emergency Medical Service (EMS) of Urdaneta City.
Acacio was maneuvering his Toyota Grandia, bearing plate Nr AEX 759, at his garage and and while already on stationary position, two unidentified male suspects armed with an M16 rifle and a Caliber.45 pistol opened fire on the vehicle at about 9:10 p.m.
The SUV incurred multiple bullets holes on the left side that exited on the vehicle’s right side portion, the police said. Luckily, none of the bullets hit Acacio’s body
The suspects fled on board a motorcycle without a plate number heading the national road towards Sta Barbara town bringing along their firearms.
Police elements conducting checkpoint operation along the Maharlika Highway, together with the Scene of the Crime Operatives from PNP Crime Laboratory, Urdaneta City, immediately responded and conducted crime scene processing.
