MANILA, (PNA) — The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) will be joining the international community in commemorating the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) starting next week.
The event, which expects over 200 local and international participants to participate in, will be held in Balanghai Convention Center, Butuan City on October 7 to 10.
The South-South Citizenry Based Development Academy (SSCBDA) provides a venue for communities to share and learn from one another, share analysis of risks and community problems, and exchange solutions and options.
Participants will mainly comprise of community members and local government unit representatives from Partners for Resilience (PfR) Philippines project areas.
To complement the workshop discussions, there will be a one day field visit to two PFR communities in Talacogon, Agusan del Sur.
The field visit will include interaction with project participants from the LGU, communities and schools, and a community tour.
