MANILA, (PNA) — Health ASec. Eric Tayag has tweeted the latest update on the number of leptospirosis and dengue cases in the country.
Tayag tweeted that as of Sept 28, there were 1,964 cases of leptospirosis with 305 deaths, or 68 percent lower than in 2012.
He also tweeted that the National Capital Region had the most number of cases among all the regions in the country.
As of Sept 21, there had been 131, 808 dengue cases that occurred nationwide with 470 deaths, or three percent lower than in 2012.
Tayag also tweeted that the Western Visayas region has the most number of recorded dengue cases in the country.
It can be remembered that last August, the Pasay City Health Department recorded two male residents of the city positive of leptospirosis.
While from January to August 28 there had been 359 cases of dengue in Pasay City, most of the patients coming from Malibay.
