MANILA, (PNA) — A Palace official shrugged off fresh allegations of massive poll fraud during last May’s automated national elections.
“At this point, the Comelec [Commission on Elections] has already addressed those concerns. From the viewpoint of, at least, the administration, the Comelec has sufficiently answered these claims,” Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said at a media briefing.
Valte was reacting to allegations made by Pres. Aquino’s aunt, losing senatorial bet Margarita “Tingting” Cojuangco who ran under the United Nationalist Alliance last elections, who accused the Palace and military officials of manipulating the results of the midterm polls.
Nine senatorial bets from Pres. Aquino’s Team PNoy won in the polls.
She also alleged that the government is now spending P30 million “to fix the mess and cover up the crime.”
