Gabby wants to impart good values

Posted on May 3, 2008

PNS — GABBY Concepcion’s most-heralded comeback is most welcome even by the young viewers who love entertainment. He was seen again in the Maalaala Mo Kaya episode last night, titled “Manibela.” His first MMK appearance was in “Sinturon” that drew critical acclaim years ago.

Gabby prefers non-negative element in his comeback projects. He doesn’t like infidelity and other bad characterization as he likes to impart positive values to children.

Gabby admits he had butterflies in his stomach during the first day of his taping. He also had several takes, just like in his early days as an actor.

After the special MMK appearance, Gabby will start his first teleserye, “Iisa Pa Lamang” with Claudine Barretto, Diether Ocampo, and Ms. Susan Roces under the direction of Ruel Bayani, who was director Joel Lamangan’s assistant in “Sinturon.” It is also confirmed that Gabby will start shooting for his first movie under Star Cinema, possibly with Bea Alonzo, Kristine Hermosa or Maja Salvador.

The good news is, he will still do a movie under GMA Films as stipulated in the contract that he signed with them. them. “Nakikipag-usap na ako sa GMA7,” says Gabby. “Maghihintay ako ng script at tamang leading lady para sa pelikulang ‘yon na kukunan sa labas ng Pilipinas.”

In spite of the voluminous intrigues that beset Gabby, he still looks happy everytime he appears on public. It maybe because fans welcome him back warmly as manifested by mobs wherever he goes. Aside from the four-picture contract and four soap operas he signed with Star Cinema and ABS-CBN , there’s a load of commercials, a recording contract with Warner Records and SM malls endorsement for Gabby. Well, Mommy Rose should be given a pat on the back for giving the much-needed confidence to Gabby.
