CAIRO, (PNA/Xinhua) — Two Egyptian soldiers were killed and two others injured in an attack by militants on their vehicle on Cairo-Ismailia road, state-run al-Ahram Online reported Friday.
The attack was carried out by unidentified militants who drove a car with no license plate.
Military police have arrived at the scene and are combing the area in search of the attackers, who have run into the desert. A military helicopter is aiding their work.
On Sept. 24, one policeman was killed and two others injured in a similar attack.
Since the Aug. 14 dispersal operation against two sit-ins that supported ex-President Mohamed Morsi, security forces have been attacked in several areas across the country. Many police stations and checkpoints have been assaulted and dozens of security personnel have been killed.
