ISLAMABAD, (PNA/IRNA) — A suicide attack on a center of a Pakistani militant commander killed at least 12 people in the country’s tribal region on Thursday, security sources said.
Sources said that eight persons were also injured in the blast in Orakzai tribal region.
Locals said that they heard heavy firing after the attack on the compound of the local Taliban leader Mullah Nabi Hanafi.
Some unconfirmed reports said that the commander was not in the center at the time of the attack.
Some sources said it was a suicide attack by a rival militant group which prompted exchange of firing between the two sides.
The center was completely destroyed in the attack.
Residents said the rival group attackers used a car to hit the center of the commander.
Commander Mullah Nabi is not associated with any Taliban group and had started his own “Nabi Hanafi group” in the area.
