PNP recalls more police trainors from PPSC

Posted on October 3, 2013

MANILA, (PNA) — The Philippine National Police (PNP) high command has recalled 181 more police personnel detailed with the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC), Senior Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, PNP-Public Information Office chief, said on Thursday.

Sindac said that upon instructions of PNP chief Director Genral Alan Purisima, recall orders were issued by the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM), directing 181 PNP personnel detailed to the Police National Training Institute as instructors and training staff to report to the Personnel Holding and Accounting Office for proper disposition and subsequent reassignment to regular PNP units and offices.

He added that the orders were issued to 141 police non-commissioned officers and 40 police commissioned officers led by Police Chief Superintendent Dominador Aquino Jr., Director of the Police National Training Institute based in Camp Vicente Lim, Laguna, a training school for police recruits administered by the Philippine Public Safety College.

Earlier, the PNP recalled 49 police personnel who are currently serving in various capacity with the Philippine National Police Academy including former PNPA Director, Chief Superintendent Noel Constantino; his Deputy Director, Senior Superintendent Leonardo Cesneros; PNPA Commandant of Cadets, Senior Superintendent Jon Arnaldo; and other PNP Personnel currently performing official duty at the PNPA.

Sindac said the 49 police personnel recalled have already reached the maximum detail period of six months based on National Police Commission Resolution No. 2010-145 issued on May 6, 2010.

Most of the PNP personnel detailed to PPSC have been performing duty for more than the maximum period with one having served the PNPA for 22 years already, Sindac added.

The National Police Commission (Napolcom) Resolution provides that: “The period of detail shall be for a maximum of six months which may be renewed for another six upon the request of the receiving office or agency, which shall be with the concurrence of the concerned personnel, but in no case shall not exceed two years.”

Based on DPRM records, there are other PNP personnel detailed to other PPSC training institutions such as the National Police College, the Regional Training Schools and National Forensic Science Training Institute.
