San Juan looking for investors
The City of San Juan is setting up an investment code and board to develop a business-friendly environment encouraging the entry of more investors to the city. Councilor Dante Santiago has filed an ordinance mandating the creation of the San Juan City Investment Code and an investment board that would identify and oversee the city’s priority industries and sectors. The board, whose members will be appointed by the mayor, will draft business policies and strategies. It will also spell out incentives for enterprises falling under the priority list. Santiago said that a good business climate would also mean more jobs for residents and increase the quality of life in San Juan, which was converted from a municipality to a city last year.
