CD0 dads OK P7.6 M supplemental budget

Posted on October 2, 2013

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, (PNA) –- The City Council on Monday approved an Ordinance to appropriate P 7.6 million supplemental budget to be taken from the city’s internal revenue allotment fund.

City Ordinance No. 12668-2013 allowed the supplemental budget to be incorporated in the general fund in the Calendar Year 2013 with an estimated income of P7,653,333 and an estimated expenditure of the same amount.

Vice Mayor Ian Acenas on Wednesday also said that a legislation relative to the approved supplemental budget was also carried to be made available to augment expenses in the coming barangay elections.

City Ordinance No. 13666-2013 has appropriated the amount of P7.6 million from the unappropriated IRA to be made available to augment election expenses (P5.7 million), 20-percent Development Fund (P1.5 million) and 5% Calamity Fund (P382,666), Acenas added.

He said that the city council also passed Resolution No. 098-2013 where the local finance committee indicated that the amount was prorated with the city’s General Fund and proportionate contributions from each barangay share of the real property tax collections.

Acenas said that based on the number of precincts, the total financial requirement of the city’s 80 barangays amounted to P 800,000 to comply with the Commissions on Elections Resolution No. 98739 promulgated on July 10, 2013.

The local finance committee informed the city council that the conduct of the barangay elections in Cagayan de Oro on October 28, 2013 would amount to P 6.5 million, Acenas said.

He said the proposed amount computed by the local finance committee was endorsed to the city council by the city mayor’s office which was approved by the august body after it was reviewed and approved by the city council’s finance committee and the committee on rules and laws.
