TRIPOLI, (PNA/Xinhua) — The Chinese Embassy in Libya held here on Monday evening an official ceremony to celebrate the 64th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, which falls on Tuesday.
Libya’s Deputy Prime Minster Abdel Salam Al Ghadi, Minister of Communications Osama Sayyala, Culture Minister Abdel Habib and a number of ambassadors in Libya attended the event.
“Over the past 64 years, China has made remarkable achievements, such as the reforms and the rapid national economic growth,” said Li Zhiguo, the Chinese ambassador to Libya, at the ceremony held at Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli.
He also mentioned the significant achievements made in cooperation between China and Libya, including the recent signing of the Economic and Technological Agreement between the two countries.
The Chinese ambassador said China always respects Libyan people’s choice of their own political system and development path.
“We are pleased to see progress in Libya in the establishment of State institutions, despite all the security challenges,” he said.
