ILOILO CITY, (PNA) — A raid conducted at the house of a suspected drug pusher in Barangay San Jose, Tapaz, Capiz yielded illegal drugs as well as firearms and ammunition.
The operation launched by the combined forces of the Capiz Police Provincial Office led by Insp. Nino Amar and the Tapaz Municipal Police Station also led to the arrest of the 46-year-old suspect, John Gargoles.
Recovered from the house of Gargoles were five transparent plastic sachets of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride), a homemade shotgun, a .9 mm caliber pistol and assorted live ammunition.
Senior Insp. Leomindo Tayupon, chief of police of Tapaz Police Station, said the illegal drug haul reached at least one gram estimated to have a street value of P20,000.
He said that Gargoles was the shabu supplier in the town for almost a year prior to his arrest.
Criminal charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, will be filed against Gargoles who is presently detained at the lock-up cell of Tapaz Police Station.
Tayupon said criminal cases may also be filed against Gargoles for possessing unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
