Doctors stand against corruption, GMA and cohorts be made accountable

Posted on February 9, 2008

Health Alliance for Democracy (HEAD) and other concerned doctors holds the Arroyo government accountable and joins the growing call of the people against corruption and our resolved to arrest the sinister acts of this regime.

While obvious efforts are being made to destroy the credibility of Jun Lozada,an important witness to the ZTE multi-million dollar scam, through Malacanang’s demolition efforts with malicious allegations hurled against him, the people who stand for truth and accountability will always be on his side.

His testimonies on the ZTE-National Broadband Network deal as to the involvement of First Gentleman Mike Arroyo, former Comelec Chair Benjamin Abalos and other profiteers remain credible and will withstand all the desperate spins from Malacanang
officials who lack moral and political ascendancy at this point.

His ordeals before prior to his testimonial demonstrated the extent of how Arroyo and thugs to cover-up their unbridled corruption.

The US$197 million overprice in the $329 deal is already enough to cover the medical operation of 15,000 kidney patients at P600,000 and 49,000 heart bypass now worth P200,000.00 per patient. It is also equivalent to the annual budget of TEN Philippine General Hospitals!

While the Arroyos and their cronies, running this country like a Mafia, can concoct white elephants and other projects only to get hefty kickbacks out of them, government funds for social services continue to dwindle.

Other well-meaning government officials and especially those belonging to the rank and file should follow his example and reveal what they know of other anomalous, graft-ridden deals that this government has entered using the people’s money.

In whatever form of mass actions, the people must unite and gather together to punish the Arroyo government which has for seven years undermined the people’s interest and plundered our government at the expense of our people.
