BACOLOD CITY, (PNA) — The Province of Negros Occidental will culminate the observance of the National Peace Consciousness Month during a program Monday morning at the NOMPAC Activity Center here.
The program will include the awarding of guns for peace and declaration of Peace Community dubbed “Balik Sibilyan”.
Scholarship grants for the children of victims of the La Castellana ambush-massacre early this year will also be distributed.
Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr., Vice Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, and Col. Jon Aying, commander of the 303rd Brigade of the Philippine Army, will lead the awarding ceremonies including giving their respective messages of peace.
Brig. Gen. Franciso Patrimonio, commander of the 302nd Brigade, will also be among the guests.Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President Thea Mae Dino will lead the pledge of peace.
Various departments of the provincial government will provide medical, dental and veterinary services, as well as distribute goods and family packs.
The theme for the culmination program is “Adlaw sang Kasanag kag Pagbag-o sa Kabuhi: Amo kami sini sadto, amo na kami sini karon”.
