UNITED NATIONS, NEW YORK, (PNA/IRNA) — The European Union is ready to reciprocate Iran’s practical measures based on a specific framework and timetable, Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders said on Friday.
Reynders made the remarks while speaking exclusively to IRNA at the end of his meeting with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif at the UN headquarters.
He expressed satisfaction over stands outlined by President Hassan Rohani during his visit to New York where he addressed the 68th meeting of the UN General Assembly.
Regarding the present circumstances, the Belgian minister stressed that the EU officials are seriously determined to make a change.
He stressed the need for setting a tangible timetable and framework to take practical steps regarding Iran’s nuclear issue.
Commenting on Iran’s possible participation in the upcoming Geneva 2 conference on Syria, Reynders said that the EU would welcome cooperation of all parties in that gathering.
Active presence of regional players at the Geneva 2 conference would help find a useful solution to the Syrian crisis, the Belgian FM said.
