MOSCOW, (Itar-Tass) – Foreign Ministers of the Council of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation will gather in Yerevan in December, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Friday.
The ministry commented on a speech by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov on the sidelines of the 68th session of the U.N. General Assembly in New York.
“Russia considers the Black Sea region its area of responsibility. This means that Russia jointly with Black Sea states will continue contribution to strengthening stability in the region, developing and expanding mutually advantageous good-neighborly relations,” the ministry said.
“As for interaction between BSEC and other international organizations and integration associations, including with the European Union, we’d like to confirm Russia’s commitment to developing such cooperation on an equal basis,” the ministry said.
