TACLOBAN CITY, (PNA) –A surgical mission for patients with cleft lip and palate deformities will be hosted by the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center (EVRMC) this Oct. 23-25.
The activity sponsored by the Maharlika Charity Foundation, Inc., in partnership with the Smile Train International ,aims to offer relief to children with cleft lip and palate deformities.

Smile Train International is an organization that is based in New York, USA and was created in 1999 to empower local medical teams to offer free and safe surgical procedure for the people, especially the poor.
Maharlika Charity Foundation, on the other hand, is a non-profit organization that is based in Davao City.
The two non- profit organizations have been doing the surgical mission for several years in EVRMC in cooperation with local organizations.
The medical doctors and volunteers will arrive in Oct. 22 and the screening, work-up and clearance of patients will be done the next day.
Casio urged the widest dissemination of the free operation to be able to reach out to target recipients, especially the indigents.
