SAN PABLO CITY, Laguna (PNA) -– San Pablo City Mayor Loreto S. Amante is reminding job applicants and employment seekers on Thursday that the Memorandum of Undertaking forged by then City Mayor Vicente B. Amante with the Dept. of Labor and Employment Calabarzon is still in effect and active.
Amante underscored the partnership agreement which covers the implementation of the Skills Registry System Program remains active and is implemented by the City Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
Melinda P. Bondad heads the city’s labor and employment as the acting PESO Manager which sustains the Skills Registry System program by maintaining the list of applicants’ names, skills and other necessary information.
The electronic listing on the applicants and other biographical information are encoded in a data base which is linked to Phil-Jobnet system as the official government portal for job matching.
Mayor Amben Amante added that occasionally representatives of various industries and recruitment agencies with authority from DOLE and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) visit the City PESO.
These representatives conduct either Local Recruitment Activity for domestic placements, or Special Recruitment Activity for international deployment.
The hiring and placement representatives also go through the file of personal data sheets and those with appropriate qualifications for the job offers.
Under the program, the applicants would be contacted upon screening by the placement representatives to report to the City PESO for interview and may be hired on the spot during the recruitment process.
