MANILA, (PNA) — Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) public affairs office chief Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala on Monday said that the estimated 40 remaining Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) fighters now pocketed in Barangays Sta. Catalina and Sta. Barbara, Zamboanga City will not escape.
He made this statement after noting that sufficient cordoning troops are in place in the entry and exit points of the two barangays.
Zagala also assured the public that MNLF commander Habier Malik is still trapped with the rest of his men contrary to reports that he has escaped.
