MANILA, (PNA) — Some areas in Metro Manila were flooded on Monday morning amid heavy rains as the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued an orange rainfall advisory over Metro Manila and nearby provinces due to the southwest monsoon.
The warning was issued around 8:45 a.m. and expected to be in effect for the next three hours.
“Heavy to at times intense rainfall is affecting Metro Manila, Zambales, and Bataan and most likely to continue for the next three hours,” PAGASA stressed.
It added that moderate to heavy rains affecting Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga and portions of Laguna, Quezon, Cavite, and Occidental Mindoro which may persist within the next three hours.
“Flooding is threatening and people are advised to monitorthe weather condition and for the next updates,” PAGASA concluded.
