MANILA, (PNA) — The Philippine National Railways (PNR) has temporarily suspended operations on Monday morning after some of its rail tracks have been submerged in floodwater.
PNR spokesman Paul de Quiros said they have decided to stop operations effective 8:00 a.m. as it is dangerous for the trains to travel when its rails are under at least five inches of water.
De Quiros said they will announce as soon as possible the resumption of operations. PNR was still able to make a number of trips early Monday morning before it suspended operations.
The PNR control center said its last train departed from Tutuban to Alabang at 7:07 a.m.
