MANILA, (PNA) — Southern Police District (SPD) head, Chief Supt. Jet Villacorte on Sunday announced that ample security will be implemented for alleged P10-billion pork barrel fund scam mastermind, Janet Lim-Napoles, who will be arraigned Monday for charges of serious illegal detention.
“We will field substantial numbers of policemen for her protection. We feel that she is very important for the pork barrel case,” he added.
Villacorte added that PNP Special Action Force members will provide close-in security for Napoles.
The SPD chief also said that there is a good chance that the businesswoman will be made to wear a bullet-proof vest as additional protection.
“Most likely, she’ll be wearing one,” Villacorte added.
Makati police chief Senior Supt. Manuel Lukban earlier said a dry run was held Saturday to test the security plan.
SWAT team as well as K-9 units will be also deployed all over the Makati city hall grounds
The Makati court on Friday denied the motions for reconsideration filed by Napoles and ordered the arraignment to proceed as scheduled.
Napoles’ co-accused in the case, her brother Reynald Lim, remains at large.
