IVISAN, Capiz, (PNA)-– Some 362 residents, majority of them out-of- school youth, graduated from the one-day computer literacy program through a mobile container van which was parked in front of the Ivisan town municipal hall building last Saturday.
The commencement exercises was held at the town civic center.
Mr. Alex Sy, chief executive of Aihu Foundation, Inc., said that a total of 34,253 students already benefited from the computer literacy nationwide.
He said that the foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to educate out-of-school youth and adults by sharing skills in computer applications, troubleshooting, and hardware maintenance.
Dubbed as Computer Van Aralan 3, Sy said that the computer literacy, which is offered for free, is in cooperation with the Technical Education and Skills Authority, Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo and the local government unit of Ivisan.
According to him, the container van has 20 computer sets that also accommodated 20 students while they were being taught of MS Words, Excel and Power point.
He added that graduates received certificates for computer literacy which can be used for employment here and in abroad.
