LAOAG CITY, (PNA)–A special session called by Governor Imee Marcos Saturday seeking to approve a resolution declaring a state of calamity in Ilocos Norte due to damages wrought by Typhoon Odette did not push through for lack of quorum in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP).
A report quoting Domingo Ambrosio, president of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) chapter and ex-officio member of the SP as saying that only five members of the SP attended the session.
The five are Albert Chua, Portia Salenda, Juan Conrado Respicio II, ABC Federated President Mike Hernando and Ambrosio.
The SP needed nine members to constitute a quorum.
The special session was called by Gov. Marcos in view of the damages in public and private properties, particularly on agriculture and infrastructures wrought by the typhoon.
