DOLE announces over 100 job fairs from September to Christmas(hold)

MANILA, Sept. 20 (PNA) — The government has called on jobseekers to join and participate in the more than 100 job fairs scheduled nationwide from September until the Christmas season this year.

Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said most of these job fairs are hosted by the Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) in local government units and schools all over the country.

“If jobseekers are serious in wanting to get a job before Christmas, they should go to a DOLE job fair. More than 100 of them are coming between the months of September and December,” she said in a statement.

On the other hand, Director Dominique Tutay of the Bureau of Local Employment said the list of job fairs are accessible to all jobseekers in the Phil-JobNet website, www.phil-job.net.

For the remainder of September, the tentative job fair schedules are as follows: National Capital Region: 27 September–Pasay City PESO; 28 September–Mandaluyong PESO;

Region 2: 21 September–Local/Overseas job fair at Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya; Municipal Hall, Peñablanca, Cagayan; Sanchez Mira, Cagayan; and, Alicia, Isabela;

Region 7: 28 September–Local job fair at Barangay Area, Cebu City; Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex organized by PESO Mandaue;

From October, November, and until December, the job fairs are as follows:

NCR: 5, 19, and 26 October–Barangay Hall, Mandaluyong City, Mandaluyong PESO; 11 and 25 October–Pasay City, Pasay PESO; 12 October–Mandaluyong City, Mandaluyong PESO; 18-19 October–6/F Alpha Tents, Alphaland, Magallanes, Makati City c/o Magnus Eventus Inc.; 7-8 November–New Valenzuela City Hall Parking Area, Valenzuela PESO; 8 November–Pasay PESO; 14 November–BOC Bldg. Region 10: 23 October–Oroquieta City Gymnasium; 2nd week, October–Integrated Bus & Jeepney Terminal, PESO-LGU Iligan City; 3rd week, October–Camiguin Tourism Center, Ugma Site, Balbagon Mambajao, Camiguin, PESO Federation-Camiguin; 3 November–Provincial Capitol Grounds, Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental; December–Kaamulan Theater, Malaybalay, Bukidnon; City Covered Court, Valencia City, Bukidnon; and SM City, DOLE Region X Office.

Region 11: 1 October–Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur, Sta. CARAGA: 13 October–Bislig City Hall; 18 October–Buenavista, Agusan del Norte; Northern Mindanao School of Fisheries; 18 October–Provincial Hall, Surigao del Norte, PLGU-Surigao del Norte; 26 October–FSUU Gymnasium, Butuan City, Father Saturnino Urios University; 15 November, Provincial Hall, Dinagat Island; 16 November–FSUU Gymnasium, Butuan City, ABS-CBN Butuan City; 5 December–Veruela Municipal Hall, Agusan del Sur; and 6 December–Municipal Hall, Tago, Surigao del Sur.

Since January, the DOLE have already conducted 802 job fairs in the 16 regions of the country. The 802 job fairs have assisted 496,364 jobseekers, with 75,208 of them hired-on-the-spot (HOTS) by some of the 15,550 companies that participated in the said job fairs.
