ILOILO CITY, (PNA) — Police authorities in Capiz have intercepted an illegally transported lumber products in Poblacion Tabuc, Maayon, Capiz.
P/Inspector Jesus Iglesia, chief of police of Maayon Municipal Police Station, said his men were able to confiscate some 200 board feet of lumber products being transported onboard the tricycle driven by 31-year-old Jovani Villar of Brgy. Jolongajog, Pontevedra, Capiz.
The illegally transported forest products include 23 mahogany and 10 Gmelina lumber products of various length and sizes.
When confronted by police, Villar reasoned out that he was only ordered by the owner whom he identified as Nancy Villar to transport the lumber products to Pontevedra, Capiz.
The lumber products were turned over to the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources in the province of Capiz for custody for lack of pertinent document.
