MANILA, (PNA) — The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) vowed to appeal the implementation of the P10 salary increase on minimum wage earners in Metro Manila.
This as the Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board of the National Capital Region (RTWPB-NCR) on Thursday published Wage No. 18.
“We are just waiting for our copy of the wage order. Kapag nabigyan na kami tsaka namin ipa-file yung appeal,” said TUCP spokesperson Allan Tanjusay in a telephone interview.
He added that they will file the appeal within 10 days after the wage order has been published.
The new wage increase will be effective 15 days after its publication, which is on October 4.
On September 6, the RTWPB-NCR issued Wage Order No. 18, which increased the basic salary of private sector workers in the National Capital Region (NCR) by P10.
However, the approval of the salary adjustment is way below the petition filed by the group headed by Democrito Mendoza asking for a P85.00 increase.
