DAPRISA Sportsfest opens Sept. 23 in Davao

DAVAO CITY, (PNA) – The Davao Association of Private Schools and Administrators Sportsfest 2013 will be held on Sept 23 to 28.

The opening day starts at 8 a.m. and is set at the Dona Pilar Learning Center in Sasa while the closing and awarding will be on Sept. 28 at the Precious International School of Davao.

“We’re expecting 31 participating schools with at least 1,500 athletes,” said DAPRISA vice-president Dr. Judith Bacarro at the SCOOP of The Royal Mandaya Hotel last Tuesday.

Sports chairman Federico Garcia said the events, which will be played in different venues are basketball, volleyball, badminton, football, sci-dama, cheerdance, lawn tennis, swimming, chess, baseball, sepak takraw, table tennis and taekwondo.

“The DAPRISA Games will serve as the lower meet for the DCAA Games or Unit VIII,” Bacarro said.DAPRISA headed by its president Atty. Leo Gellisania with Mrs. Michelle Zanoria as treasurer is composed of private schools with less than 1,500 students.

The participating schools are the Brokenshire College of Toril, Child of God Learning Learning Center Inc., Colegio de San Ignacio, Davao Central College, Davao Holy Trinity Academy, Davao Jones Academy, Davao Macarius Child Academy, Davao Wisdom Academy, Dona Pilas LC, Heartworks Learning Center, Immanuel School of Davao, International Christian School of Davao, International College of St. Ignatius de Loyola, Kids Camp Innovative Learning Academy, Maa Christian Learning Center, Mandug Christian Development and Training Center, Mindanao Christian Foundation College and Seminary, Montserrat Camp School de Davao, Paaralang Kaunlaran ng Nayong DDF, Phil. Nikkei Jin Kai International School, Precious International School of Davao, Prime Movers School of Davao, San Lorenzo College of Davao, Shepherd My Lambs Christian College, Southern Phil. Polytechnic College, Southpoint School of Davao, St. Francis Xavier LC, St. Patrick Mat-Sci School, Thompson Christian School and United Methodist School of Davao.
