COTABATO CITY, (PNA) — Members of the Government Service Insurance System in Maguindanao and Cotabato City can now avail of calamity loan with the government financial institution, the GSIS said Wednesday.
GSIS Cotabato City Branch Manager Engr. Rosalinda Mendoza said her office has started receiving calamity loan applications a few months after Maguindanao and Cotabato City were placed under state of calamity due to floods and bombing incidents, respectively.
“We will be receiving loan applications until October 16,” Mendoza said.
“Each member can avail of up to P20,000 calamity loan after submitting all necessary requirements,” she added.
There are provisions, however, that prohibit GSIS members from availing of the calamity loan.
She said those who have standing calamity loans with the GSIS could not avail of the new financial assistance.
GSIS Cotabato City branch which covers the city, Maguindanao and part of North Cotabato.
Mendoza said government employees who availed of the calamity loan privileges in December 2012 can avail of the new loan program provided they have fully paid their previous loans.
GSIS members can claim their approved calamity loan through their humid cards at the GSIS kiosk situated at the Office of the Governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Department of Education regional office and at the Cotabato City hall.
Applicants who have no humid card can apply for it at the GSIS office.
