HO CHI MINH CITY, (PNA/VNS) -– One person was found dead and seven others were still missing in the sea of Vung Tau after a serious collision between a Singaporean vessel and local fishing boat carrying 16 fishermen before the break of dawn on Monday.
According to local officials, the Singaporean vessel Sima Saphire was on its way to Malaysia from here when it collided at 2am with a boat carrying fishermen from Tien Giang province 50 nautical miles off the coast of Vung Tau.
During the accident all 16 fishermen were knocked from the boat into the sea.
Fortunately, eight of them were brought on board the container vessel.
Eight otherd went missing. At 9am the body of one victim was found, Le Van Chien, director of Vung Tau Maritime and Port Authority, reported to local media.
