Discovery of Devantes car seen to help solve the case – PNP

Posted on September 15, 2013

MANILA, (PNA)– The car of advertising executive Kristelle “Kae” Davantes who was killed last week was discovered in Las Pinas City, police said.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director, Chief Superintendent Jose Erwin Villacorte said the Las Piñas City police on Sunday recovered Davantes’ Toyota Altis car at the corner of Silver and Nickel Streets in Camella 4, Barangay Pamplona Tres, Las Pinas.

“Ang nakakita yung taga barangay so tumawag sila ng pulis pagdating ng mga pulis walang upuan at wala na din plate number ang tancha namin binuhusan ng diesel,” Villacorte said in a phone interview.

He also said that the vehicle has no plate number when it was recovered but our operatives confirmed that its conduction sticker and the chassis number matched Kae’s car.

He said the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) were able to confirm that the conduction sticker and the chassis number of the abandoned Toyota Altis matched with Davantes’ missing car.

He also said with the discovery of the car’s victim may provide vital clues that could piece together the events that transpired before the cadaver of 25-year old Davantes was discovered under a bridge in Silang, Cavite.

The SPD Chief said relatives of Davantes were contacted for the identification of the personal items found inside the car.

Villacorte and Vicente Davantes, the family spokesman said the development is considered a breakthrough in the search for justice for the slain 25-year-old advertising executive.

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has offered a P200,000 reward money for any information that may lead to the arrests of suspects in the killing of Davantes.

Supt. Christopher Laxa, chief of Task Group Kae, said the reward money was raised through the help of concerned citizens.

Davantes was last seen driving the Toyota Altis at a parking lot in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) last week after a night-out with friends.

She was a senior account manager of the MRM digital marketing agency, which is under McCann Worldgroup Philippines that holds office at Active Fun Building along 9th Avenue in BGC.

Davantes’ car was discovered hours before she was laid to rest on Sunday at the Manila Memorial Park in Sucat, Parañaque City.
