ZAMBOANGA CITY, (PNA) -– An official of the business community supports continues military actions instead of giving safe passage “to these criminals” as the standoff enters the seventh day Sunday.
“Zamboanga is eager to see a full military assault and not theatrics! These criminals do not know civilized peace, only force,” Zamboanga City Chamber of Commerce and Foundation, Inc. (ZCCCFI) president Pedro Rufo Soliven said.
Soliven said this as the standoff has pushed the city 10 steps backward coupled with the catastrophic losses of the business sector is unquantifiable.
The standoff started Monday when hundreds of “Misuari-faction” of Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) rebels infiltrated this city through of the shores of Barangay Rio Hondo and nearby barangays.
The sporadic fighting is coupled with fire incidents, which the authorities believed the houses in adjoining barangays of Sta. Barbara and Sta. Catalina, where the fighting is taking place.
