DAVAO CITY, (PNA) — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Region 11 will be awarding P24.2 million worth of checks to local government units and other beneficiaries on September 18 to cover program implementation of supplementary feeding, sustainable livelihood and social pension for indigent senior citizens.
Priscilla Razon, DSWD regional director, said that the check distribution will coincide with the State of the Region Address (SORA) to be delivered by the DSWD regional directors simultaneously all over the country.
Razon said that the activity takes place at 2:00 p.m. at the Almendras Gymnasium along Quimpo Boulevard, this city.
She said that her SORA is anchored on the gains, accomplishments and future goals of DSWD.
“We are consistent with our committed advocacy in promoting good governance and transparency in public service,” she said.
