Posted on September 12, 2013

MANILA, (PNA) — Due to continuous rains brought by the intertropical convergence zone and a potential cyclone moving near Luzon, Binga Dam in Benguet kept one spill gate open to let out excess water since its water level remained high on Thursday, according to Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

As of 6:00 a.m., Binga still kept one gate open at 0.8 meters its water level rose to 574.10 meters or 0.90 meters short its spilling level of 575 meters, but lower than the 574.76 meters recorded on Wednesday.

Binga’s water flows downstream to the San Roque dam in Pangasinan, which can contain the water spillage.
