TESDA allots 20 scholarship vouchers for trainer’s training in E. Visayas

TACLOBAN CITY, (PNA) — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority has allotted 20 scholarship vouchers for the “Train the Trainer” in English program in Eastern Visayas that seeks to enhance the teaching of the language to benefit the Information and Communication Technology.

TESDA has tapped the help of the Expert Global Solutions, a business process outsourcing company operating in Leyte, in screening would-be recipients of the training.

Kjell Daren D.C. Aboy, site management and community relations assistant of EGS said that they would like to utilize the vouchers before the year ends, otherwise they would have a hard time requesting for the same next year.

Also they will be present during the actual implementation although they have yet to discuss the company’s “actual engagement.”

“Hopefully the screening will be more regional so that the exponential effect is bigger and not limited to Leyte and Eastern Samar,” he added.

The training for trainers will last for two months.

Aside from assisting TESDA in the screening of applicants, he added that EGS is also “helping them review their curriculum.”

“It will be a TESDA curriculum,” he said. “We are helping them review to make sure it is industry relevant.”

The EGS training team is now going through the curriculum already.

The program is also being supported by the Eastern Visayas Federation for Information Technology that has been pushing this region to become an ICT hub.
