MANILA, (PNA) — Some P10 million worth of medicines had been donated by the PHAPCares Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of the Philippines, military sources said Wednesday.
They said the donations were given to victims of Tropical Storm Nando and Maring which cut a swathe of destruction in the country last month.
The donations were coursed through the Office of Civil Defense and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
The donation is part of the PHAPCares Foundation’s five-year commitment to provide the NDRRMC with P50 million worth of essential medicines for use of victims of natural or man-made calamities.
Under the memorandum of agreement with the NDRRMC, PHAPCares, through its member companies, will donate various medicines for distribution to disaster victims, providing the latter with greater access to quality medications.
