The inter-bank exchange rate in Jakarta on Wednesday was strengthened 111 points to Rp11,250 than before – Rp11,361 per US dollar.

The Trust Securities` Head of Research Reza Priyambada said the exchange rate was strengthened to US dollar following the diplomatic talks about Syria that reduced the market concerns and stopped the demands of the save heaven currencies such as the US dollar.

“The regional sentiment is quite linked to rupiah currency in which overshadowed by correction, but it`s positive movement,” he said.

Besides, Priyambada added that the strengthened rupiah was also impacted by Australian dollar and Chinese yuan appreciation, following the market`s positive response to China economy.

On the other hand, the Monex Investindo Futures` Head of Research, Ariston Tjendra, said the weakened US dollar to other currencies was also caused by the unfinished tapering tantrum, following the employment data result that out of the Federal Reserve`s expectation.

Therefore, as positive as the export data of China keeps on growing, the Asian markets would also recover and positively impacted to the strengthened exchange rates.

“The rise of hope on China economic growth and the decrease of market concerns to US military intervention`s plan in Syria have impacted to higher positive sentiment to the Asian markets,” said Tjendra.
