Might-Meteor launches 2nd electrical training scheme

Posted on September 10, 2013

KUALA LUMPUR, (PNA/Bernama) — MIGHT-METEOR Advanced Manufacturing Sdn Bhd (MIGHT-METEOR) launched the “Technology Specialist in Specific Domain Expertise 2 (TeSSDE 2)” program Saturday to train degree graduates as technology specialists in the electric & electronic and oil & gas fields.

MIGHT-METEOR Managing Director Jasmin Baba said the success of the TeSSDE 1 spurred it to continue the TeSSDE programme as it bridges gaps and allow transitions from the academic to the industrial environment.

“TeSSDE 2 was designed to enhance engineering skills and capabilities of talented young locals.

“We have incorporated technical and soft skills development in TeSSDE 2 for graduates to become technology specialists and skilled engineers who are dedicated, competent and visionary,” Jasmin said in a statement.

Under TeSSDE 2, 642 trainees will be placed at leading electrical & electronics and O&G industries nationwide.

For TeSSDE 2, MIGHT-METEOR, a recognised human capital development centre of the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High-Technology (MIGHT), an agency under the Prime Minister’s Department, collaborated with the Economic Planning Unit, MIGHT and Talent Corp Malaysia.

EPU Deputy Director General (Policy) Nik Azman Nik Abdul Majid said in the same statement that the second series also supports the national agenda to increase competitiveness among Malaysian industries especially in two fields that could push Malaysia to the same level as first world countries.
