COTABATO CITY, Sept. 9 (PNA) — Police authorities in Maguindanao on Monday clarified the performance bonus of police officers in the province had been released.
Supt. Rodelio Jocson, Maguindanao police provincial director, made the clarifications amid complaints by some police officers who claimed they have not received their performance incentives. Others also complained of limited allowance as compared to their comrades.
“It’s performance bonus therefore it is based on the police officers performance last year,” Jocson clarified.
He admitted that not all police officials have received their bonuses since they are yet to show up at the police provincial office in Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao.
Jocson also admitted that the incentive pay was based on how a police officer performed last year so it will never be the same amount to all recipients.
Some police officers complained to local radio stations alleging “favoritism” marred the distribution of incentive pay.
“We have grievance committee in the police provincial office so they can air their complaint and not through the media because it puts the police in bad light anew,” Jocson explained.
Jocson also urged all his subordinates that the best way to resolve a misunderstanding over pays and incentives is to bring the matter before the grievance committee.
