ZAMBOANGA CITY, (PNA) — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has appointed a new director for Region 9, who is set to assume office this week.
PDEA Director-General Arturo Cacdac Jr. has designated Jeffrey Bangsa as the new PDEA-9 regional director vice Adzhar Albani.
Bangsa, a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 2001, comes from Region 4-A or CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon provinces).
Bangsa replaces Albani, who served for seven years as PDEA regional director.
Albani said he was officially relieved effective September 3 and reassigned to CALABARZON as part of the rotation in the PDEA.
The area of jurisdiction of PDEA-9 is the entire Zamboanga Peninsula and the provinces of Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi which are part of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
He said that five other PDEA regional directors were relieved and reassigned to new posts.
