MANILA, (PNA) — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday said that most parts of the country will continue to experience a cloudy skies with light rains.
Weather forecaster Manny Mendoza said that except for Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao, Metro Manila and the rest of the Luzon will continue to experience sunny to partly cloudy skies with possible isolated rains in the afternoon or evening due to localized thunderstorms.
Mendoza said that rains from the inter-tropical convergence zone is likely over Palawan and parts of Visayas and Mindanao.
Because of the ITCZ, which is the breeding ground for low pressure areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones, he said these areas are expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light to moderate rains.
He added that they continue to monitor a potential cyclone, a low-pressure area, approaching from the east.
But Mendoza said the weather disturbance is still too far away to have any effect on the country but expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Sunday.
In its advisory, PAGASA said that light to moderate winds from the northeast to northwest will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the west to southwest over Mindanao.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, it added.
